Docs In Progress has opened up applications for our 2018 Documentary Filmmaker-in-Residence. Established filmmakers who are looking for space, community, and access to resources available in Washington DC and Maryland to develop a new project are encouraged to apply.
Depending on the needs, interests, and schedule of the selected filmmaker, the residency may last from 2-6 weeks between May 29-July 27, 2018. Applicants may originate from anywhere in the United States. The selected Resident will receive a $1,000 honoraria and up to $1,000 as a stipend to cover travel and living expenses.
In exchange, the Filmmaker-in-Residence will give back to our vibrant documentary film community by teaching a workshop and screening work, and may be asked to mentor our Fellows while in residence.
The deadline to apply is April 20, 2018. Visit https://www.docsinprogress.org/residency for more information.
This program is made possible through the support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
