Senior Video Producer

UNICEF New York Headquarters is in need of a Senior Video Producer who will undertake all necessary action to produce multimedia content for unicef.org and other platforms

Responsibilities:

• Lead producer for major multimedia modules (i.e. ECHO) • Co-ordinate with numerous people throughout the organization to personally research, structure, develop, assemble and produce multimedia (text, images, audio, video, interactive, etc.) coverage packages for breaking news, scheduled events and other content areas related to UNICEF Programs • Develop multimedia packages on a quick turnaround, under tight and variable deadlines. • Write from scratch, rewrite, sub-edit and edit content (including includes news stories, features, captions, blurbs etc.) from a variety of sources, in keeping with web style and UNICEF editorial style. • Research and select related photo images for multimedia pieces. • Conduct recorded interviews; manage audio files in a variety of formats. Audio editing experience desired. • Work with video files in multiple formats. • Work with other file formats as necessary, including Flash, PDF etc. • Include intuitive links to relevant online resources. • Produce these packages into final, published content on the UNICEF within a content management system environment. • Gather information on an ongoing basis; gain a thorough understanding of the organization; be extremely well-informed on international current events. • May be asked to work on weekends • May be asked to travel

Qualifications or specialized knowledge/ experience required:

• Minimum of 8 years work experience in a similar position with the online section of a media company is essential. • Experienced in developing content for multi-media web modules. • Journalism background and other media experience showing ability to create content for specific audiences a must. • Experience in working within a web content management systems. • Experience in video production and editing. • Experience in working on multi-lingual websites. • Work primarily undertaken in English, Spanish and/or French an asset. • Familiarity with international development issues a plus.
